How rankings are determined

How are SunWiz Manufacturers rankings determined?

SunWiz ranks all qualifying CER-accredited installers internally based on verified installation data sourced from the Clean Energy Regulator’s REC-Registry. The companies displayed on this page are 2026 SunWiz Award participants. Rankings of non-participating companies remain in SunWiz’s internal datasets, available to industry through our Luminate subscription.

SunWiz Award rankings are determined exclusively by verified third-party data — REC-Registry submissions. Ranking positions are determined by data, independent of whether the company chooses to participate. SunWiz cannot accept payment to improve a company’s ranking.

SunWiz has tracked every solar power system installed in Australia since 2009. Our data is referenced by corporations, NGOs, and government bodies including the Clean Energy Regulator.

How does SunWiz determine its rankings?

SunWiz rankings are derived from Clean Energy Regulator REC-Registry data for volume awards and audited customer review data for review-based awards. Rankings are determined exclusively by verified third-party data — no judging panels, nominations, or sponsor relationships. SunWiz has tracked Australian solar installation volume since 2009.

What data source does SunWiz use for installation volumes?

Are SunWiz Awards paid?

Companies pay a participation fee to be publicly named as a SunWiz Award winner and to receive award materials (badges, certificates, listings, marketing assets). However, ranking positions themselves are determined solely by verified installation volume from Clean Energy Regulator data and audited customer review data. Ranking positions are determined by data, independent of whether the company chooses to participate. SunWiz cannot accept payment to improve a company’s ranking.
