Who are the leading retailers of batteries?

For a long time SunWiz has encouraged solar retailers to diversify into batteries. As demonstrated to our subscribers, while PV market revenue is down-trending, that is neatly offset by the ongoing increase in battery revenue. Those that don’t sell batteries are clambering for a share of a shrinking pie, whereas those selling both PV and ESS can continue to generate healthy revenue.

It’s worth noting battery specialists are capturing a decent chunk of the market. The chart below shows the companies with the greatest volume of battery installations tend to have high ESS-to-PV attachment rates. The smartest businesses go where the money is, and the money is no longer in PV.

To help suppliers of battery equipment and services identify partners with whom to trade, SunWiz has long identified leading battery retailers.

On a mission to expand our Top Solar Company Awards to incorporate batteries, we’ve recently expanded our coverage of our Top Battery Companies. As well as the top volume ESS retailers, we also now identify the high-growth ESS retailers – companies that are worth hitching your cart to. For example, we see Solaray showing healthy and steady growth.

The next category of retailers worth seeking out are those new battery retailers. Getting to these retailers before anyone else is an opportunity to lock in business before someone else does. For example, Green.com.au first started registering batteries in May, and could be good to approach.

We also provide actionable interactive tables of retailers, for example these new retailers into the QLD battery scheme.

Become a battery market subscriber today. We are on a mission to add batteries to our SunWiz Awards program in 2025. Contact us if you’re interested in appearing. (PS SunWiz also delivers equivalent charts covering solar retailers each month, for smart suppliers of PV products & services. )
