The 2024 Annual SunWiz Australian PV Report has been released. Here’s what it has to say:
- 4.6 GW of PV capacity in total was installed in 2023, which lifted total installed capacity in the country to 33.7GW.
- It was a year of significant growth for rooftop PV, which recorded its second-best year on record.
- Commercial PV had a record year, across many sub-categories and overall.
- Solar Farms had a poor year for new capacity brought online. It was the worst year for solar farms since before their rollout began in earnest in 2018.
- A greater amount of rooftop solar power is likely to be deployed in 2024, quite likely setting new records. However we anticipate further reduction in energization of new solar farms in 2024, a situation that will persist until their development pipeline regains momentum.
